AsbestosAccountability.org holds its journalism to the following standards.
Source Documentation
Every factual claim in our investigations is sourced to a specific document, court record, regulatory filing, or named interview subject. We do not publish claims that cannot be independently verified. Document counts cited in each investigation reflect actual records reviewed.
Primary sources include litigation discovery documents from federal asbestos proceedings, EPA and OSHA regulatory records, Congressional testimony, records from the Rutgers University Asbestos Litigation Archive, and trust fund eligibility documents and annual reports.
Named Authors
Every investigation is published under the byline of a named journalist. Author credentials are listed on each piece. We do not publish anonymous claims or use unnamed sources without editorial justification.
Corrections
We correct factual errors promptly and note corrections at the top of the affected article with the date of correction. We do not delete corrections after publication. To report a potential error, use our contact page.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of any legal referral relationships. The existence of legal resources sections does not influence editorial coverage. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage and we carry no advertising.
Legal and Medical Information
Legal information on this site is general information, not legal advice. Medical information reflects published scientific consensus. Mesothelioma patients should consult a specialist oncologist and a mesothelioma attorney about their specific situation.
